A situation with a visa to Costa Rica depends on every country and the visa type. If you want to check if you need to get one, the best way to do it is to visit the government site of this country.
For how many days is the visa in Costa Rica valid?
Polish citizens who want to get to Costa Rica using a tourist visa do not need to apply for a permit for visiting this country. After the arrival, the customs official can issue a tourist visa for as long as 90 days for Polish citizens.
Costa Rica visa – what are the requirements?
- Valid passport (days until the end of validity of your passport, depends on the list that your country is on).
- A departure ticket or a confirmation of leaving the country after the duration of the tourist visa).

- Group 1 – up to 1 day. Example countries: Poland, Germany, Spain, Italy, USA
- Group 2 – up to 3 months (90 days). Example countries: El Salvador, Suriname, Türkiye, Guatemala.
- Group 3 and 4 – up to 6 months (180 days). Example countries: Albania, India, Dominican Republic.
